SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Alexander Sause of Men's Tennis and Kaitlynn Stevens of Women's Lacrosse are the latest Western New England University Student-Athletes of the Week honored, for the period March 24-30. Sause is a sophomore from Cusago, Italy, while Stevens is a junior attack/midfielder hailing from Stratford (Conn.) High School.

Against Sage College a week ago Thursday, he claimed a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at the No. 1 singles position and teamed with classmate Andres Otero for an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles. Then at conference foe Curry College on Saturday, the sport management major recorded a win at No. 1 singles (6-3, 4-6, 10-3) and No. 1 doubles (8-4).

On the season, Sause is 5-5 in singles including a 3-2 mark at No. 1 and 2-3 in the second slot. He is also 4-5 at No. 1 doubles.

Stevens led WNE to wins over Wentworth Institute of Technology (21-3 on Wednesday, March 26) and Curry (18-7 last Friday), leading the team with 13 points on six goals and seven assists. The neuroscience major also tied for the team lead with 11 draw controls and contributed five ground balls.

Currently, Stevens ranks second in the CCC with 32 goals, tied for third with 19 assists and tops the conference with 51 points.
