SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Commonwealth Coast Conference officially released the CCC tournament pairings and times for basketball on Saturday evening. The Western New England University women will be the fourth seed while the Golden Bear men are No. 7. All quarterfinal matchups will take place on Tuesday at campus sites.

In the CCC women's tournament, Western New England is 16-9 overall and 11-7 in the conference going into its first-round game at home against fifth-seed Eastern Nazarene College (12-13 All, 10-8 CCC) in the Alumni Healthful Living Center field house. The opening tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Golden Bears will be looking for some payback as the Lions won a couple close games during the regular season, 72-68 last Saturday, Feb. 14, in Quincy and 65-60 on Jan. 10 here in the AHLC.

Western New England owns its best record since the 2005-06 squad went 20-7 for a .741 winning percentage.

On the men's side, the Golden Bears will be making a return trip to Beverly and the MacDonald Gymnasium, site of their regular season finale earlier Saturday, where they will play No. 2 seed Endicott College (20-5, 16-2). Endicott swept the regular season by scores of 89-77 and 75-66. This postseason game will start at 7 p.m.

Despite an 8-17 record and 6-12 in CCC games, WNE has shown athleticism as a young team and given opponents problems with its three-point shooting accuracy (CCC 4th with 7.6 per game, 5th in percentage), clutch free throw percentage (2nd with a .704) and ability to hold onto the basketball (4th in 14.1 turnover average).
