Canning, a freshman, had a career-best two points during the Golden Bears' 18-4 win over Smith College on Saturday. Western New England scored 12 consecutive first-half goals, taking a 12-0 lead into the intermission. She scored the 12th tally with 42 seconds left on an assist from teammate Tori Cirocco. The biomedical engineering major also had an assist on a goal by Kaitlynn Stevens, minutes before her own first collegiate goal and point. Canning currently leads WNE freshmen with three points on the season.
Cedrone, a junior, led the team with five ground balls during a 15-6 loss against nationally No. 10-ranked Amherst College on the road last Wednesday, March 4. He also won 9-of-18 face-offs at the "X". On the season, the mechanical engineering major has 10 ground balls and is ranked fifth in the conference with 24(-for-57) face-off wins.
