Month of March Closes with WNE Student-Athlete of the Week Awards to Cirocco, Stone
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Western New England University athletics department has announced that men's lacrosse midfielder Chris Stone (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby High School) and women's lacrosse midfielder Tori Cirocco (Carmel, N.Y./Mahopac HS) are the Golden Bear Student-Athletes of the Week, for the period ending Sunday.

Stone, a freshman, had three points during two games last week. During a 20-4 victory on Thursday at Nichols, he had his first two assists as a Golden Bear. On Saturday, WNE cruised to a 19-6 win over University of New England, where Stone scored his first collegiate goal with nine seconds left in the third quarter. The team improved to 5-4 on the season and 2-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

Cirocco, a junior, racked up 15 points over two games last week. She contributed to the 19-12 win over Nichols last Wednesday, March 25, with a career high of five goals and four assists, giving her a game-best nine points. During a CCC 20-8 win over University of New England on Saturday, the marketing communications/advertising major scored three goals and had two assists on the day. She now has a career-best 17 goals and nine assists for 26 total points on the season.
