Breton, DeLisi Earn Department Student-Athletes/Week on Strength of CCC Awards
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Western New England University Athletics Department has announced that softball catcher Corianna DeLisi (Tuxedo N.Y./Tuxedo) and baseball pitcher Trevor Breton (Enfield, Conn./Fermi) are the Golden Bear Student-Athletes of the Week, for the period ending Sunday.

DeLisi, a sophomore, received the Player of the Week award from the Commonwealth Coast Conference, making this her first-ever conference weekly award. During all six CCC games last week, when the Golden Bears went 5-1 in conference play, DeLisi batted .500 (9-for-18). She had her first career home run, four runs batted in, five runs scored and a stolen base during that time. The biomedical engineering major's best performance came during a 6-1 win at Endicott on Saturday, April 11, as she went 4-for-4 and had two RBI. On the season, she has seven RBI while batting .368 and slugging .491.

Breton, a senior right-hander, was named the CCC Pitcher of the Week, and this is the fourth time he has received this award during his time as a Golden Bear. He shut out the CCC's top-scoring offense in Endicott in Sunday's 8-0 win. In seven innings, he only let up six hits and one walk while striking out four. The loss was the first in conference play at home for first-place Endicott. On the season, the computer science major has 17 strikeouts in 26 innings and holds a 2-2 record with two complete games.
