Kelsey Armstrong, Tim Carr Chalk Up Latest WNE Student-Athletes of the Week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Senior ice hockey goalie Tim Carr (Pine Bush, N.Y.) and junior women's volleyball outside hitter Kelsey Armstrong (Groton, Conn./Fitch High School) have been named the Western New England University Student-Athletes of the Week, for the period ending Sunday.

Carr, who previously skated for the New Hampshire Monarchs of the Eastern Junior Hockey League, was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast Goalie of the Week, announced on Monday. This is the second time Carr has received this honor (Nov. 19, 2012) and his first this season. Seeing 125 minutes of action last week, Carr recorded a 1.92 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage. In an out of conference game against Worcester State last Thursday, he made 28 saves. Then he stopped 25 of 27 shots he faced in an ECAC Northeast opening win at Becker, 3 - 2, on Saturday. Carr ranks second in the conference with a 1.63 GAA and fourth in save percentage (.937).

Armstrong was named to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference Honorable Mention team, released on Tuesday, Nov. 4. This season, she has recorded career-high and CCC-11th-leading 200 kills (.122). She has been set a career-best 566 times, which ranks third on the team and 18th in the conference, and has 63 digs. This is her first all-CCC recognition.
