Baseball Assistant Coach Chris Wiltey G'12 Adds Equipment Duties
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Western New England University Athletics Department has appointed Chris Wiltey G'12 to be the new assistant equipment director, it was officially announced by Director of Athletics Dr. Mike Theulen on Thursday.

Wiltey will be charged with contest set-up/tear-down, assisting in the equipment room, and helping in the supervision of work-study students.

Wiltey also serves on the Western New England baseball coaching staff as an assistant, beginning his fifth season in 2015. His specific responsibility is working with the Golden Bears infielders.

A native of Johnstown, N.Y., Wiltey graduated from Cazenovia (N.Y.) College with a bachelor's degree in sport management in 2010. He also received a Master's of Business Administration degree from the University in 2012.

He was a two-year starter and a team captain on the baseball team that was the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) regular-season league champions in 2008 and 2009. A first baseman, Wiltey was third on the team in batting average as a senior. He also was selected the 2010 NEAC Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Year.

Wiltey also served as the team captain of the men's club hockey squad for three years.

Wiltey replaces Steve Kearney '10 who resigned the post--along with his baseball assistant coaching duties--to pursue a professional business opportunity in managerial sales.
