Adam Cherry excelled both on the playing field and in the classroom to become one of the top student-athletes in Golden Bears history. The Westfield, MA native utilized his skill and strength from his attack position to set the program record with 267 points (190 goals, 77 assists) in 74 games (3.6 avg.) Adam helped his team capture its first ECAC Division III New England Championship as a freshman. He was a key member of the 2007 squad that set a school record with a 17-1 record while winning the Pilgrim League Tournament title and advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Championship. Adam was the Pilgrim League Rookie of the Year in 2004 and Player of the Year in both 2006 and 2007 in addition to being a four-time All-Pilgrim performer. He had the proud distinction of being both the Western New England Coca-Cola Male Athlete of the Year and the Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2007. Adam was twice an ECAC Division III New England and New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) selection and was the ECAC and NEILA Player of the Year as a senior. He made the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III All-America Team in both 2006 and 2007 and played in the USILA Senior North-South Game. Adam was voted to the Pilgrim League Academic Team four times and ended his sensational career by making both the USILA Senior Scholar All-American and ESPN the Magazine College Division Academic All-America Teams. Adam graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2007. He is the Learning and Development Specialist for Webster Bank.
