Kristin Hensinger has played a significant role in the success of the Western New England University women’s soccer program as a player and coach for more than a decade.

The Bedford, NH native controlled the middle of the field for four years and was a big reason why the Golden Bears fared well playing a strong schedule.

Kristin was a dynamic player who became a four-time All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) selection and twice a First Team honoree.

A former captain, she was named to both the All-New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) and All-New England Region Teams as a senior.

Kristin also was selected the MVP of the GNAC Tournament after leading the Golden Bears to the conference title and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship.

She was the team MVP as a freshman and junior, and recipient of the Norm Merrill 12th Player Award her senior year.

Kristin compiled 72 points (18 goals, 36 assists) in 79 matches from her midfield position.

She has served as an assistant coach for the past eight seasons helping the Golden Bears make the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) playoffs each year.

Kristin earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree at Springfield College in 2009.

She presently is the Operations Manager at New England Financial in East Longmeadow, MA.

Kristin and her husband Rob Hensinger ’07 (a former member of the Golden Bears men’s soccer team) reside in Springfield with their children Brady (3) and Addison (4 months).
