Booker Lester

Booker Lester was a dominant force in both football and wrestling during his sensational career at Western New England University. He played three seasons of football at nose guard, finishing with a school record 30 sacks. Booker also compiled 201 tackles that ranked sixth on the school list at the time of his graduation. He recorded 83 tackles his junior season and set a single season program mark with 11 sacks. Booker was the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Lineman-of-the-Year as a senior and a two-time All-ECFC selection. The Springfield, Massachusetts native also made the New England Football Conference All-Star Team his junior year. In wrestling Booker earned a pair of New England honors after placing third in the 190-lb. weight class as a sophomore and second as a senior. Overall he posted a 30-14-4 record in dual meets with a 15-3 mark in New England Tournament competition. Booker also played one season of men’s lacrosse as a defender his junior season. Booker received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Education in 1990 and a master’s degree in Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1993.  He serves as a School Adjustment Counselor for the City of Worcester Public School System. Booker and his wife Natarsha reside in Sturbridge, Massachusetts with their children Maiah (11), and twins Booker, Jr. and Arianna (both 9).
