Eddy Lindsay played four years and was a dominant sweeper in the region. His determination, leadership, and team play raised the soccer program to a national level during his time on the field. As a senior, he served as a team captain and was named to the National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-New England Team. Lindsay was an instrumental part of the 1975 squad that captured the NAIA New England Championship en route to a fourth-place showing at the NAIA National Championship in Raleigh, North Carolina. The 1975 team finished with a 15-4-2 record (76.2 winning percentage) and was inducted into the Downes Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000. Lindsay continues to lend his support to the College’s athletics program and other school functions, including the Athletics Department Golf Classic where he was the Guest of Honor in 2004. The Golden Bears’ men’s soccer team awards the Ed Lindsay Freshman-of-the-Year award to a player for exceptional contributions to the program. A native of Teaneck, New Jersey, Lindsay has resided Cumberland, Rhode Island for the past 18 years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing. For the past 10 years, he has served as the Senior Vice President/National Sales Manager for TNT Marketing based in Arlington, Texas. Lindsay’s wife Paula (1977) and son Kyle (2006) are also graduates of Western New England College while their daughter Jillian is a sophomore at Rhode Island College.
