(May 16, 2018) – Seniors John Abbott (Higganum, Conn.) and Mike Metcalf (Longmeadow, Mass.) of the Western New England University men’s golf team have both been named Division III Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), the organization announced on Tuesday night. Additionally, Abbott earned DIII Ping All-Northeast Region honors.

(May 13, 2018) – After the second game of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Baseball Tournament best-of-3 championship series was suspended due to darkness with the score tied 6-6 through 11 innings on Friday night, it took just 19 minutes for Western New England University to walk off with a 7-6 victory over Salve Regina University on Sunday afternoon at Reynolds Field.

The Golden Bears completed Saturday’s suspended contest with a 6-5, 11-inning victory over Husson, before falling to Amherst 7-2 in nine innings.

The Golden Bears’ offensive coordinator for the past six seasons, Lebeau succeeds Keith Emery, who is stepping aside to relocate with his family. Emery will remain affiliated with Western New England in an advisory capacity.
