Western New England College sophomore Mike Lawlor tabbed TCCC Pitcher-of-the-Week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Western New England College sophomore relief ace Mike Lawlor (Windsor, CT) gained The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Pitcher-of-the-Week award on Monday (Apr. 12).

Lawlor, a right-hander, recorded three saves for the Golden Bears' baseball team who capped a busy week by winning seven of nine contests. He struck out 10 batters in 5 2/3 innings of work.

Lawlor struck out four batters in 2 1/3 innings of work in a 11-6 victory over No. 11 Eastern Connecticut. He entered the game when WNEC was leading 9-6 and retired the side after the Warriors had two runners on base.

Against conference opponent Curry who was hitting a league-best .408 and averaging a league high 12.9 runs a game in conference play, Lawlor struck out the only batter he faced with a runner in scoring position that preserved a 3-2 victory.

Lawlor, a Business Management major, closed the week with three scoreless innings and five strikeouts against TCCC rival Colby-Sawyer.

Western New England College (21-6, 12-4 TCCC), hosts Keene State in a non-league game at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday (Apr. 14) at Trelease Park.
