INDIANAPOLIS--Western New England University pitcher Matt Fedor (Monroe, Conn./Masuk High School) finished 24th in the final NCAA Division III Baseball Statistical Rankings with seven saves, according to the NCAA's final report released this week.
Fedor, a junior right-hander who has made 27 appearances as a reliever, led the Commonwealth Coast Conference with his seven saves in 2015. That figure ranks second in school annals for a single-season and he already lists tied for second place on the Golden Bears all-time chart. The accounting major finished the spring with 15 strikeouts in 16-1/3 innings of work, translating to an 8.27 strikeouts-per-9-innings ratio for second on the team.
In addition, Western New England ranked 89th out of 383 institutions that sponsor baseball at the Division III level for the fewest hits allowed per 9 innings (9.43) and 93rd in Ks/9 innings (6.8).
