    Golden Bears Drop Doubleheader to Salve Regina in CCC Opener NEWPORT, R.I. (March 25, 2017) – The No. 22/30 nationally ranked Western New England University baseball team was held to just eight hits and one run during a pair of losses to Salve Regina University this afternoon as both teams opened Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play at Reynolds Field. The Golden Bears, who batted second as the home team in both contests, fell 1-0 in the opener and 4-1 in game two.

(March 17, 2017) – Sophomore left-hander Bob Hamel (Southwick, Mass.) and senior right-hander Matt Thomas (Plainville, Conn.) both turned in strong pitching performances as the Western New England University baseball team earned a doubleheader sweep of No. 13 nationally ranked The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) today at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. The Golden Bears pulled away late in game one for a 7-1 victory, before rolling to a 7-2 triumph in game two with the help of a six-run third inning.
