SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Commonwealth Coast Conference on Tuesday tabbed Western New England University sophomore forward Allison Jackson as the CCC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week. She previously was named the conference's rookie of the week on Sep. 2, 2014, also earning similar accolades by the Eastern College Athletic Conference for the Division III New England region.
A Mahopac (N.Y.) High School product, Jackson scored three goals and added an assist for seven total points in a 2-0 week for the Golden Bears. In a 4-3 win over Westfield State on Wednesday, she collected a career-high five points on two goals and one assist. Then three days later in a 3-0 victory over Clark, she added another tally. In both instances, Western New England avenged losses to the Owls and Cougars from the previous year.
Currently, Jackson paces the team with a CCC-second-leading two assists and conference-fifth-topping eight points. The pre-physician's assistant major also is tied for the team-lead with three goals.
At 3-0, WNE is off to the program's best start since 1986, when the team opened the season 5-0-1.
