NASHUA, N.H. — Junior guard Jon Godbout (Bristol, CT) tied his career high with 28 points after making 10-of-17 shots from the field (including 3-of-5 three-pointers) and 5-of-6 free throws as Western New England College posted an 76-62 decision over Rivier College in a key Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game.

Sophomore forward Jim Bayne (Bristol, CT) had his 14th double double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Golden Bears won their sixth consecutive contest.

Freshman point guard Asif Abdul-Wadud (Springfield, MA), making his first collegiate start in place of the injured Jeremy Sternstein, posted career highs of eight assists and six rebounds while scoring two points.

Senior center Mike Cutler (Amherst, MA) provided a spark off the bench with nine points, three rebounds, three steals, and two assists.

The Golden Bears trailed 35-32 at half-time and by as many as 11 points in the second half before a 21-4 run turned things around.

Western New England College (16-7) raised its conference mark to 12-4 and kept its home playoff hopes alive with two games remaining in the regular season.
