Western New England College forward Kyle Fredette named TCCC Player-of-the-Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Western New England College junior Kyle Fredette (Wallingford, VT) was selected as The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week on Monday (Feb. 4).

Fredette, a 6-6 forward, compiled three consecutive double-doubles averaging 15.3 points and 13.0 rebounds in a 2-1 week while shooting 56.7% from the field and 70.6% from the foul line.

He netted 15 points and tied his career high with 15 rebounds in a thrilling 69-67 overtime victory over conference co-leader University of New England. He started the week with 16 points and 12 rebounds in a close eight-point loss at Tufts (97-89) and followed with a 15-point, 12 rebound performance with three assists and three steals in a 77-61 win at Nichols.

A Business major, Fredette is first on the team in rebounding (10.1 avg.) and blocked shots (43), second in field-goal percentage (45.9), and tied for second on the team in scoring (10.4 avg.).
