BOSTON, Mass. - Junior guard Louis Williams (Burlington, VT) and junior forward Casey Purcell (Seattle, WA) combined for 49 points to lead Fisher College (Mass.) to a 93-84 victory over Western New England College Thursday evening (Dec. 3) at Madison Park Community College.
Williams finished with 26 points (including the 1,000th of his career) while Purcell had a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds along with six assists for the Falcons who raised their record to 6-1.
The Golden Bears (1-5) had five players in double figures with senior guard Rick Johnson (Springfield, MA) leading the way with 18 points.
Sophomore guard Andre Shaw (Jamaica, NY) netted 16 points coming off the bench while senior guard Mike Booker (Springfield, MA) had 14 points and five rebounds.
Junior guard Chris Devine (Wilbraham, MA) and freshman guard Damon Alston (New Britain, CT) each contributed 10 points in reserve roles.
Junior guard Andre Duncan (Bronx, NY) had a team high seven rebounds along with eight points.
Each team shot well from the floor with Western New England College connecting on 53.1% (34-for-64)of its shots while Fisher made 47.1% (33-for-70).
Sophomore forward Dennis Norford (New Haven, CT) chipped-in with 18 points and nine rebounds for the hosts who led 40-30 at halftime. Senior guard Ryan Henry (Westwood, NJ) also was in double figures with 13 points.
