Golden Bears Partner with NABC's Coaches Versus Cancer Suits and Sneaker Campaign
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Western New England University men's and women's basketball programs will be participating in the annual Coaches vs. Cancer Suits And Sneakers awareness weekend on Saturday, when the Golden Bears take on Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Nichols College at the Alumni Healthful Living Center field house. The women's game will tip-off at 1 p.m., followed by the men's at approximately 3 p.m.

NABC coaches across America will be wearing sneakers this year to show their support for Coaches vs. Cancer – a joint effort of the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers basketball coaches to help make a difference in the fight against cancer.

During Suits and Sneakers weekend, the goal is to enhance our fans' engagement and enjoyment of the games while supporting the fight against cancer. All ticket sales for the games against the Bison will be donated to Coaches vs. Cancer. Western New England Athletics encourages fans to follow Coaches vs. Cancer on Facebook and @CoachesvCancer on Twitter.

Another way to be active in this event is to become a part of the fight against cancer by partnering with Coaches vs. Cancer directly, so please make a donation of $5 by texting “COACH” to 20222. Every time you text from January 21 through April 9, you’ll be entered for a chance to win exclusive basketball experiences like watching top teams courtside at the 2013 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic or autographed gear.
