SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Commonwealth Coast Conference has announced the 2014 men's basketball championship field as the tournament gets under way on Tuesday with four quarterfinal games on campus sites.

Western New England (7-17 overall, 5-13 CCC) is seeded eighth and will travel to Dudley to play top-seed Nichols (20-5, 16-2). Nichols Athletics plans to have multimedia links to cover the game: Video / Live Stats.

Despite losing both regular season games to the CCC regular-season champion Bison, WNE gave Nichols all it could handle. On Jan. 9, the Golden Bears held the league's second-highest scoring team (79.5 ppg) to 60 points in a 60-51 loss. In an 80-64 defeat on Feb. 8 in Springfield, the Golden Bears led Nichols at halftime. In both games, WNE shot under 38 percent from the field.

The CCC champion receives the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.
