Victor, N.Y. native tied for 19th place at NEIGA Championship
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 23, 2018) – Freshman Andrew Crean (Victor, N.Y.) of the Western New England University men's golf team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Western New England finished sixth at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship, which was held on Sunday and Monday at The Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass.
Crean tied for 19th place in the 113-golfer field with a 36-hole score of 158 after carding matching scores of 79 in both rounds.
Crean is being recognized by the conference office for the third time this season. He was named CCC Golfer of the Week after earning medalist honors at the CCC Fall Qualifier on September 19. Crean then collected Rookie of the Week honors following his eighth-place showing at the Elms College Blazer Invitational on October 6-7.
Western New England's 2018-19 campaign will resume in April when the spring season gets underway. The Golden Bears are slated to host the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship April 27-28.
