Western New England also receiving votes in USILA Poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 5, 2018) –
After opening the 2018 campaign with a pair victories last week, Western New England University has moved up three spots to No. 6 in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division III Poll, which was released on Monday. 

Additionally, the Golden Bears are among teams receiving votes in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) DIII National Poll.

Western New England defeated Keene State 13-10 on the road last Tuesday, before rolling to a 16-6 triumph over Lasell on Saturday at Golden Bear Stadium.

Junior attackman Jared Ward (Littleton, Mass.) and senior goalie Steve Kerr (Hopkinton, Mass.) were recognized by the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) as the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Western New England (2-0) travels to No. 11 Amherst on Tuesday night to take on the Mammoths (ranked No. 2 in this week's NEILA poll), before heading to Syracuse, N.Y. on Sunday to face Nazareth College at the Carrier Dome.
