SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (June 14, 2018) – Western New England University senior goalie Steven Kerr (Hopkinton, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Nick Gamba (East Islip, N.Y.) have added to their list of honors this season as both student-athletes were recognized by the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) with All-Northeast Region honorable mention accolades.
Kerr and Gamba, along with sophomore Oskar Djusberg (Abington, Mass.) were both named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America honorable mention performers in late May.
Gamba was also named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Year, while Kerr earned an All-CCC first team nod in addition to being selected to compete in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) East-West Senior All-Star Game.
Gamba helped fuel the Western New England offense this spring, compiling a career-high 55 points with 33 goals and 22 assists.
Kerr posted career-bests with a 9.93 goals against average and a 55.6 save percentage, while racking up 10+ saves on 12 occasions.
The Golden Bears (13-7, 8-0 CCC) captured their seventh CCC championship this season with a 10-6 victory Endicott College in the title game.
