Senior midfielder Nick Liccardi (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) scored the Golden Bears' lone goal early in the contest, while junior Corey Brown (Somers, Conn.) totaled a team-high three shots and handed out an assist.

Bridgewater State utilized three different goal scorers as junior Tim Alzamora (Holden, Mass.), sophomore Loubensky Lucas (Stoughton, Mass.) and freshman Robson Montrond (Brockton, Mass.) all found the back of the net. Junior Zachary Ells (Douglas, Mass.) chipped in with two assists for the Bears.

Game Review
Western New England jumped out to a 1-0 lead just under eight minutes into the contest, when Brown set up Liccardi for the game's opening goal. Despite being limited to just one shot on goal over the remainder of the half, the Golden Bears held a 1-0 lead at the break as senior goalkeeper Sam Brewer (Westford, Mass.) stopped both of the shots he faced in the frame.

Bridgewater State equalized on a header goal by Lucas in the 51st minute, and the Bears pulled ahead at the 75:04 mark when Alzamora headed home a corner kick sent into the box by Ells.

Montrond gave the home team some insurance in the 81st minute, when he finished a cross from Ells to cap the scoring in the contest.

• Western New England held slight advantages in both shots (14-13) and corner kicks (7-5).
• Brown picked up his first assist of 2018 after leading the Golden Bears with seven helpers last fall.
