Jake Vattimo is entering his first season as a graduate assistant with the Western New England University men’s soccer program in 2019.
Vattimo comes to Western New England after spending a year in Rochester Institute of Technology’s Athletic Communications office as the Athletic Communications Assistant Director. There he played a key role in the promotion and media relation efforts for RIT's 22 Division III programs and Division I men's and women's hockey teams.
Vattimo served as RIT's Athletic Department Intern during the 2018 spring semester, where he worked primarily with the Athletic Administration and the game-day operations staff.
Prior to arriving at RIT, Vattimo attended Alfred State College, where he served as an Assistant Gameday Manager while earning a bachelor's degree in sport management. He assisted in media relations, event marketing, social media, compiling statistics and spotting at a variety of different sporting events for the Pioneers varsity teams. He was also a Sports Intern at GeneseeSun.com where he was responsible for writing articles, post-game interviews, photographing and capturing video of contests in the Livingston County area.
In addition, Vattimo led the Alfred State varsity men's soccer team as team captain in the final season of his four-year career. He was named to the All- American Collegiate Athletic Association Academic Team and earned honorable mention All-ACAA accolades. Vattimo is Alfred State's all-time leader in games started in a single season, and top ten in games played, games started and minutes played in his four-year career with the Pioneers.
Vattimo attended Geneseo Central School in New York and now resides in Agawam, Massachusetts.
