Nichols Records 9-0 Win Over Western New England

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 2, 2017) – The Nichols College men's tennis team defeated Western New England University 9-0 on Sunday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Volvo Outdoor Courts.

Match Review
• The Bison opened up a 3-0 lead with wins in all three doubles matches. Freshmen Daniel O'Neill (Branford, Conn.) and Luke Surawski (Wethersfield, Conn.) dropped a hard-fought battle at the No. 2 flight, 8-5, to Blake Norton and Aidan Stuart.
• In singles play, freshman David Kalmer (Slingerlands, N.Y.) was defeated by Blake Norton, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1, and sophomore Justin Kohut (South Windsor, Conn.) fell at the No. 2 spot by a 6-3, 6-1 score to Guilherme Barbosa.
