Tuxedo, N.Y. native hit .476 with a home run, three doubles and seven RBI last week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 20, 2017) – Senior catcher Corianna DeLisi (Tuxedo, N.Y.) of the Western New England University softball team has been recognized as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week, the league office announced this afternoon.
DeLisi hit .476 (10-for-21) last week with a home run, three doubles and seven RBI as the Golden Bears went 5-1 over their last six games in Florida. She also walked twice, stole two bases, and scored five runs. DeLisi collected multiple hits in three contests, including a 4-for-4 effort in a 5-3 win over Lancaster Bible on Wednesday. The senior reached base in every game and finished the week with a .522 on-base percentage.
An All-CCC second team honoree as a junior last season, DeLisi is a career .324 (128-for-395) batter with 25 doubles, one triple, six homers and 43 RBI in 129 games. She has also stolen 12 bases, walked 41 times and scored 82 runs.
Western New England, which finished its season-opening trip in Florida with an 8-2 record, is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday at Smith.
