Taunton, Mass. native posted 0.81 ERA in four appearances last week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 16, 2018) – Sophomore Aimee Kistner (Taunton, Mass.) of the Western New England University softball team has received her second consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Pitcher of the Week award, the league office announced on Monday.
Kistner was dominant in four appearances in the circle last week, as she posted four complete games with a 0.81 earned run average and 28 strikeouts in 26.0 innings of work.
Kistner struck out at least six batters in all four starts, beginning with a seven-strikeout effort in Tuesday's 4-1 loss at Salve Regina.
The Taunton, Mass. native followed that performance up by fanning eight batters and surrendering just one earned run on three hits over seven innings in a 2-1 setback to Keene State on Wednesday.
Kistner improved her record to 6-5 with wins over the University of New England and Wentworth on Friday and Saturday, respectively. She struck out a combined 13 batters and allowed just one run over the two contests.
In 13 pitching appearances this season (ten starts), Kistner is 6-5 with a 2.16 earned run average and 68 strikeouts in 68 innings.
Western New England (15-11, 8-2 CCC) opens its final full week of the regular season with a CCC doubleheader at Nichols College on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
