Taunton, Mass. native went 2-0 with 1.00 ERA last week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 22, 2019) – Junior Aimee Kistner (Taunton, Mass.) of the Western New England University softball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Kistner turned in a pair of strong pitching performances for the Golden Bears last week. She went 2-0 in the circle with a 1.00 earned run average while striking out 15 batters over a pair of complete game efforts. Kistner recorded seven strikeouts and allowed just four hits over seven shutout innings in a 1-0 win over Nichols on Wednesday, before fanning eight batters and giving up two earned runs in an 8-3 victory over UNE on Friday.
In 15 starts this season, Kistner is 11-4 with a 2.02 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 93.2 innings pitched. She has gone the distance in ten of her 15 appearances.
Western New England (18-12, 8-6 CCC) travels to crosstown rival Springfield College on Wednesday, before returning home to take on Westfield State on Friday.
