New Fairfield, Conn. native matched career-high with 9 points against Salve Regina
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 29, 2019) – For the second time in her career, senior attack Eileen Ruby (New Fairfield, Conn.) of the Western New England University women's lacrosse team has been recognized as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Western New England wrapped up its regular season slate with a 20-12 victory over Salve Regina last Wednesday at Golden Bear Stadium.
Ruby matched her career-high with nine points against the Seahawks, scoring four goals and dishing out five assists. She also accomplished a career milestone in the win, reaching the 100-point mark.
A two-time All-CCC selection, Ruby has compiled 110 career points with 67 goals and 43 assists in 54 games (49 starts). She has also recorded 66 ground balls, 75 draw controls and 32 caused turnovers.
Western New England (10-8), which defeated Curry in the CCC Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday, travels to top-seeded Endicott for the semifinal round on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
