Western New England College breezes by Regis in TCCC match

WESTON, Mass. – The Western New England College women’s tennis team allowed only one point in the singles competition in rolling to a 9-0 victory over Regis College Tuesday afternoon.

The Golden Bears raised their record to 8-4 overall and 6-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

Senior captain Meredith Hughes (Springfield, MA) and sophomore Kristen Ayers (Acton, MA) had the closest match with an 8-4 win in the No. 1 doubles flight.

Senior Aimee Schapp (Torrington, CT) remained undefeated in singles competition (6-0) with a straight set win at the No. 6 position.

This was the sixth shutout victory of the season for Western New England College.

Regis falls to 0-13 and 0-9 in the conference.
