Jackson, N.J. native averaged 5.43 digs per set in 2-2 week for Golden Bears
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (September 11, 2017) – Senior defensive specialist Brianna Roath (Jackson, N.J.) of the Western New England University volleyball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Libero of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Roath earns this honor for the second time in her career after compiling 76 digs (5.43 per set) in a 2-2 week for Western New England.
She recorded 10+ digs in all four matches, including 25 and 24 in wins over Gallaudet and Suffok, respectively, at the Smith College Invitational over the weekend. The senior captain also tallied seven assists, four service aces and two kills on the week.
Through seven matches this season, Roath is averaging 3.96 digs per set, good for fourth in the CCC. She has recorded 697 total digs in 64 career matches at Western New England.
The Golden Bears (3-5) travel to WPI on Thursday night before heading to Framingham State for a tri-match on Saturday. Western New England opens its home schedule against Elms next Tuesday, September 19.
