Twenty-Six Golden Bear Student-Athletes Inducted into 2016 Chi Alpha Sigma Class

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 29, 2016) - Twenty-six Western New England University student-athletes were inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society on Friday night in a ceremony held at the St. Germain Campus Center.

One of the top events on the Golden Bears sports calendar, Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes college students who receive a varsity letter and display leadership while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade-point-average throughout their junior and/or senior years.

The National College Athlete Honor Society was founded at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., on May 17, 1996, as a student-athlete honor society for the recognition of high academic achievers and sport letter winners at the collegiate level. Chi Alpha Sigma is the first national scholar-athlete society to honor those collegiate student-athletes who have excelled in both the classroom and in athletic competition.
