HADLEY, Mass. (January 28, 2022) – The Western New England Women's Swimming team was defeated by the Mount Holyoke Lyons on the road today with a final score of 141-75.
How it Happened:
The Golden Bears struggled today in their meet on the road vs the Lyons. It was a 16 event meet and they only had a few top finishes on the day. The Golden Bears just hit the mid-mark in the 50-yard Freestyle, WNE's Caitlin Hall placed fourth with a time of 28.37. They placed first and second in the 500-yard freestyle. Morgan Heidel came in first with a time of 7:18.67, and Katarina Dasilva in second in 7:54.77 for a total of 11 points. The Golden Bears also placed first and second in the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard freestyle relay. Alexa Adams in first in 1:13.08 and Amanda Walsh in second in 1:35.14 in the 100-yard butterfly. The relay team of WNE's First years: Hall, Adams, Megan Morissey, and Dasilva placed first in 1:57.62. The senior relay team: Julianna Foley, Walsh, Rebecca Friedman, and Hannah Martin came in second in 2:18.53. Friedman also placed first in the 200-yard 1M for a final time of 1:57.62
