FAIRFIELD, Conn. (January 21, 2024) – The Western New England women's wrestling team fell on the road on Sunday night, dropping a tri-match to Sacred Heart University and Ursinus College.
How it Happened:
The Golden Bears opened with a 30-13 loss to Ursinus College, falling short.
Linda Holeman would earn a victory at the 130 lb. weight class for the Golden Bears on a 4-2 decision win, seeing the match go the distance before
Holeman would take down Stacy Bloomfield to earn Western New England's first win of the night.
Sabrina Sedor would also take a victory for the Golden Bears, collecting an 8-0 win over Maydson Hickman in 1:32 to continue to put points on the board for the Golden Bears. Western New England would fall behind after having to take three forfeits and could not recover, dropping the match.
The Pioneers of Sacred Heart University would prove to be too much for the Golden Bears as the hosts would defeat Western New England in every match on the night to take a 40-1 victory.
Linda Holeman earned the only point for the Golden Bears.
