SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 9, 2024) – The Western New England women's wrestling team improved from their last meeting with the Pioneers of Sacred Heart University, scoring seven points on Friday evening from the Anthony S. Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center, though falling short in a 39-7 contest.
How it Happened:
The Golden Bears came around with their first victory of the season in dual action with the Pioneers of Sacred Heart University in the 130 lb. weight class when
Linda Holeman earned a forfeit victory. Western New England would also grab extra points, one coming in the 136 lb. weight class when
Sabrina Sedor earned a full point and two points total in the match, though fell 12-2 on a tech-fall.
Dakota-Marie Dinielli had a near victory over Temi Sanusi of Sacred Heart University before Sanusi would come around late in the match to take a 6-5 decision victory to take down WNE in the 143 lb. weight class.
Dinielli recorded one point in the match.
