EAST STROUDSBURG, PA. (November 23, 2025) – The Golden Bears finished the East Stroudsburg Warrior Duals with a 4-3 record on the day, defeating Adrian College, Felician University, Marymount University, and Elmira College. The Golden Bears dropped close contests to Brock University, Lock Haven University, and #16 East Stroudsburg University. WNE was led by Tanya Teneva, who went 7-0 on the day, and Maddie Ripley, who went 6-1 on the day.
How it Happened (vs. Brock University):
The Golden Bears dropped their opening match to Brock University, a top-ranked Canadian university. The Golden Bears would jump out to a 14-6 lead after the first four weight classes. Ayana Contreras took the 110 lb. weight class match via pinfall, and Maddie Ripley took the 117 lb weight class via pinfall as well. Linda Holeman would win the 124 lb. weight class thanks to a technical fall victory 12-1. The teams traded the following two matches, with Tanya Teneva picking up a 12-0 technical fall victory in the 138 lb. weight class. Brock would take the next two weight class victories before Sky De Leon won a 12-6 decision in the 180 lb. weight class. With the score 23-19, WNE, with one match to go, Brock would get the 9-0 pinfall victory and squeak out a 24-23 victory in both teams' opening match of the East Stroudsburg Women's Wrestling Warrior Duals.

How it Happened (vs. Adrian College):
The Golden Bears bounced back from their tough loss to Brock with a big 40-9 victory over Adrian College. The Golden Bears forfeited the 103 lb. weight class before picking up seven consecutive victories. Victoria Oredner won the 110 lb. weight class via forfeit. Then, Maddie Ripley and Linda Holeman both picked up wins via pinfall. Ripley won in 59 seconds in the 117 lb. weight class match, and Holeman would collect the victory with thirty seconds left in the 124 lb. weight class match. Jazmene Molina won the 131 lb. weight class match via a forfeit. Then, Tanya Teneva had another big win via pinfall at 1:33 in the 138 lb. weight class. Rylee Donohue took down Adrian College's wrestler via pinfall in the 145 lb. weight class match. It took 1:05 to get the win. The Sky De Leon won the 160 lb. weight class with a pinfall victory at 2:25. WNE led 35-5 before dropping one match and then seeing Samantha Rabkin seal the WNE victory with a pinfall victory at 2:14 into the 207 lb. weight class. Adrian College was deducted a point, so WNE's victory was deemed 40-9.

After a very exciting 40-9 victory, the Golden Bears took on Lock Haven University for their third match of the day. It started like the others, with them trailing 5-0 after forfeiting the 103 lb. match. Then, Victoria Orender collected five points via a forfeit victory in the 110 lb. weight class match. Maddie Ripley collected four with a 13-3 technical fall victory in the 117 lb. weight class match. Linda Holey won three points for WNE in the 124 lb. weight class with a 9-6 decision. Jazmene Molina and Tanya Teneva kept winning with technical fall victories at 1:23 in the 131 lb. weight class and 1:47 in the 138 lb. weight class, respectively. WNE led 20-7 with four weight classes to go. Unfortunately, Lock Haven took all four matches, winning three of them via pinfall and one of them via a 10-0 technical fall. Those 19 points would push Lock Haven ahead 26-20 at the end to steal away a victory from WNE.

How it Happened (vs. #16 East Stroudsburg University):
The Warriors jumped out to an early lead via wins in the 103 lb., 110 lb., 117 lb., and 124 lb. weight class matches. They trailed 16-2 after those first four matches. However, they did not give up. Jazmene Molina grabbed three points thanks to an 8-4 decision in the 131 lb. weight class. Tanya Teneva followed that up for an 11-0 technical fall victory in the 138 lb. weight class. The Warriors answered with eight points combined in the 145 lb. and 160 lb. weight class matches to get to 25 points, but WNE collected a technical fall victory in the 180 lb. weight class match thanks to Alyssa Guzman. Samantha Rabkin ended the match with a 9-0 pinfall victory 1:45 into the 207 lb. weight class match to collect five points for the Golden Bears. However, the late push was not enough as WNE fell 25-18 to #16 East Stroudsburg University after a one point decustion.

Felician came up with the first two wins in the dual match, winning the 103 lb. weight class on a forfeit before taking the 110 lb. weight class. Western New England bounced back with six straight wins, seeing Maddie Ripley earn a fall win in 4:12 in the 117 lb. weight class. At 124 lbs., Linda Holeman picked up a technical fall victory over Gianna Bonaccorso in just 45 seconds, winning that match 10-0. Jazmene Molina continued winning for Western New England, earning a fall victory in 38 seconds to claim victory at 138 lbs. Tanya Teneva also continued winning, part of her impressive afternoon, taking a TF win, 10-0, in 2:04. Kendall Branchaud was in the win column, also a TF win, picking up a 10-0 victory in 1:59. Sky De Leon (160 lbs.), and Alyssa Guzman (180 lbs.) also took technical fall victories for the Golden Bears, seeing the blue and gold earn a 30-15 win over Felician University.

The Marymount Saints picked up a forfeit win over the Golden Bears in the 103 lb. weight class before Victoria Orender stepped in for a forfeit at 110 lbs., evening the match. Maddie Ripley earned a quick fall victory in 0:37, while Ariel Casella earned a victory at 124 lbs., also by fall in 1:23, giving the Golden Bears the lead in the match. Jaden Coppins had a win for the Golden Bears at 131 lbs., a 12-2 TF win in 1:31. Teneva's afternoon got even better with another win, her sixth of the day, with a fall victory in 25 seconds. Rylee Donohue earned a 7-2 decision win over Marymount's Jennifer Djobo at 145 lbs. WNE's final two wins of the match came from Alyssa Guzman (180 lbs.) and Samantha Rabkin (207 lbs.), giving the Golden Bears a 32-15 win over the Saints.

Tanya Teneva also capped off an impressive afternoon with a technical fall victory in 3:50, winning the 138 lb. weight class in 3:50. Sky De Leon (160 lbs.), Alyssa Guzman (180 lbs.), and Samantha Rabkin (207 lbs.) all earned wins for the Golden Bears, helping the blue and gold pick up another 32-15 team win.
