SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 9, 2025) – WNE hosted the WNE Duals on Sunday, with the University of Bridgeport and Norwich University visiting Springfield for the matches. After the two opposing squads faced off, the Golden Bears won four matches via pinfall in each contest, taking down Norwich 43-4 and Bridgeport 44-4.

How it Happened vs. Norwich University: 

WNE started their first match with Anna Felicio winning via forfeit in the 103 lb. weight class. That was followed by Aayana Contreras pinning Jayla Vazquez in sixteen seconds in the 110 lb. weight class match and Maddie Ripley defeating Addisyn Herdic via a technical fall, 10-0, thirty-four seconds into the 117 lb. weight class match. WNE led 14-0.

Former Golden Bear, Gianna Silva, would win the 124 lb. weight class for Norwich University versus Ariel Casella. That match was won via a 12-7 decision. WNE now led 15-3.

The Golden Bears would then pick up wins from Jaden Coppins versus Veronica Conant in the 131 lb. weight class and Tanya Teneva versus Charlii Carbajal Sanchez in the 138 lb. weight class. Coppins won via a 12-0 technical fall in forty-four seconds. Teneva won via pinfall in forty-one seconds. WNE led 24-3.

Madison Dowd and Sky De Leon handled business with wins versus Nalani Portela-Bailey and Abigail Williams, respectively. Dowd won via pinfall at 1:26 in the 145 lb. weight class, and De Leon won via a 12-1 technical fall at 4:13 in the 160 lb. weight class match. WNE increased their lead to 33-4.

Alyssa Guzman was the final Golden Bear to wrestle a match versus Norwich. Guzman defeated Ana Lemler via pinfall in thirty-six seconds in the 180 lb. weight class match. Emily Dudar won via forfeit from Norwich in the 207 lb. weight class match.

WNE defeated Norwich 43-4.

How it Happened vs. University of Bridgeport: 

The 103 lb. weight class, 110 lb. weight class, and 117 lb. weight class matches were called for WNE via forfeits from Bridgeport. Ana Felicio, Victoria Orender, and Maddie Ripley were the WNE wrestlers in those weight classes, respectively. WNE led 15-0.

Former Golden Bear Lyndsey Rywolt defeated Ariel Casella in the 124 lb. weight class match via a 10-0 technical fall 1:05 into the match. WNE still led 15-4.

Jaden Coppins defeated Sky Hernandez in the 131 lb. weight class via pinfall in twenty-nine seconds. Then, Tanya Teneva won the 138 lb. weight class match versus Callisto Banks. That match was won via pinfall in 1:01. Kendall Branchaud followed with a pinfall victory versus Jelene Lainez in 2:21 during the 145 lb. weight class match. WNE now had a 30-4 lead.

Sky De Leon defeated Hoshena Gemme in the 160 lb. weight class match via a technical fall (10-0) at 1:12. Mikayla Maloy followed that performance with a pinfall victory at 2:27 versus Linette Diaz in the 180 lb. weight class match. Finally, Samantha Rabkin won via forfeit over Bridgeport in the 207 lb. weight class match.

WNE defeated Bridgeport 44-4.
