SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Western New England University men's golfers Kyle DeGroff and Aidan Devaney earned All-Conference recognition following strong performances at the 2026 Conference of New England (CNE) Championships. DeGroff was named to the First Team, while Devaney earned Second-Team honors.
Kyle DeGroff earned the first All-Conference honor of his career with his First-Team selection. The Berlin, Connecticut, native turned in a pair of strong rounds at the CNE Championships, carding a 73 (+1) on Saturday before posting an even-par 72 on Sunday to finish in third place individually at 1-over par for the championship. DeGroff recorded eight birdies and 21 pars across the two rounds.
The junior's 73 and 72 represented his third- and second-best rounds of the season, respectively. His only lower round came the previous week at the New England Classic, where he posted a 70.
Aidan Devaney also earned his first All-Conference recognition, securing a spot on the Second Team after tying for sixth place at the CNE Championships. The sophomore from Waterbury, Connecticut, opened the championship with a team-best 72 (E) on Saturday, recording five birdies and nine pars.
Devaney followed with a 75 (+3) on Sunday, adding four birdies and eight pars to finish at 3-over par for the championship. The 72 was Devaney's best round of the season, while his second-round 75 matched his opening-round score from Sept. 9.
The Golden Bears finished tied for third as a team at the CNE Championships last weekend in Hebron, Connecticut. Western New England will return to action Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10-11, at the Skidmore Fall Invitational in Saratoga Springs, New York. The tournament will be held at Saratoga Spa State Park, with play scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. each morning.
