SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 21, 2026) – The Western New England women's tennis team dropped the Wolves of Western Connecticut State University on Tuesday afternoon by a final score of 7-0, ending the 2025-26 season on a high note with the sweep win.

How it Happened:
Western New England picked up the doubles point after breezing past WestConn in two matches played.
Yasmine Giacalone and
Kayla Ledoux came away with a forfeit win, while
Emma Miller and
Elise Catlett picked up a 6-1 victory in the top doubles spot.
Malina Dinis and
Lauren Bilodeau finished out the win for WNE in doubles action with a 6-2 victory in the second position over Elsie Sabol and Aylina Razeq.
Singles action continued to favor the Golden Bears, with
Elise Catlett and
Leina Salomon earning forfeit wins that put WNE ahead 3-0 in the match.
Malina Dinis dropped just one game in the opening set and picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win in the second singles spot.
Emma Miller matched the score of her usual doubles partner in Dinis, earning a 6-1, 6-0 win in the top spot to finish the season in style.
Kayla Ledoux, who had an outstanding sophomore campaign for the Golden Bears, also picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win for the Golden Bears in the third position.
Gabrielle Tirkot, a senior, finished her WNE career with a 6-3, 6-0 victory to clinch the 7-0 win for the Golden Bears.
WNE wraps up the 2025-26 season with a 4-15 record and went 3-7 in CNE play during the fall season.
