Patrick Roche

Patrick Roche joined the Western New England coaching staff as the women's tennis head coach in 2021. Roche will begin his fourth season at the helm in 2024-2025.

Roche began rebuilding the women's tennis program back in 2021, completing a three-win season for the Golden Bears, including a 2-5 mark in CCC play. Roche claimed his first ever victory as head coach over Suffolk University (9/20/21). The Golden Bears completed another three-win season, improving to 3-4 in conference play in 2022. In his first two seasons with the program, Roche led WNE to the CCC tournament and into the quarterfinal round. The Golden Bears improved to four victories in 2023-2024, which again included two victories in CCC play as the Golden Bears advanced to the CCC tournament for the third straight season under Roche. The Golden Bears finished the 2023–2024 season with a victory over the University of Saint Joseph's (Conn.), an 8-1 win. 

Prior to Western New England, Roche was an instructor at Moving on Up Tennis of Springfield while also instructing with the Northampton Recreation Department. Roche is a former Division I tennis and soccer player at Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y. where he earned his bachelor's in 1991. Roches also earned his master's in 2003 from Sage Graduate School in Troy, N.Y.
