Biography

2014 (Senior Year): Co-captain and one of two seniors on the squad...All-Commonwealth Coast Conference Second Team third baseman...named the WNE Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year in a vote of the athletics staff...had a career year that included a .317 batting average, 38 hits, 48 total bases and a .400 slugging percentage...increased her runs batted in total each season, culminating with 22 that tied for the team lead...recorded her 100th career hit on April 13 in the first game of a twinbill against Wentworth...had a streak of five multi-hit games from April 6-11, batting .611 (11-for-18) during that stretch...ended the season with six hits in three conference tournament games.

2013 (Junior Year): Postseason honors included Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society inductee, National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Scholar All-American and Academic All-CCC...started in 44 of the 45 games she appeared in had a fielding percentage of .968 for a career high...also set a personal record with a .361 on-base percentage.

2012 (Sophomore Year): Started all 38 games she appeared in...CCC Academic Team.

2011 (Freshman Year): Appeared in 38 games, including 32 starts scored a career high in runs with 14 was successful on her only stolen base attempt of her career.

High School: Four-year varsity athlete in basketball, soccer, and softball at Lee, earning 12 letters Western Mass. and Berkshire County Most Valuable Player for basketball as a senior...helped LHS win the 2010 state basketball championship and three Western Mass. titles in 2007-08 and '10...member of two Western Mass.-winning soccer teams in 2006-07... graduated in 2010.

Personal: Born Kathryn Mary Eckert on May 8, 1992 in Pittsfield, Mass...parents are Ed and Nancy also played four seasons on the Golden Bears women's basketball squad, a captain and three-year starter...has two brothers, Ryan and Michael...Favorites: pro team—MLB's New York Yankees; athlete—Derek Jeter; music genre—country...wants to attend graduate school and then get a job as a guidance counselor...major is psychology with minors in education and athletic coaching.
