Western New England University

Kevin Pender joins the Western New England women's volleyball team as an assistant coach in 2026. Pender joins WNE after serving as the Head Coach at Anna Maria College (NCAA DIII) for the last three seasons. 

Pender has extensive coaching experience at the high school level, most recently serving as the girls and boys volleyball coach at Agawam High School since 2016. Pender led the Agawam boys volleyball team to the 2023 State Title and the program's first title since 2013.  Pender was an assistant coach at Frontier Regional  High School for two years and head coach at Southwick High School for one year. While at Frontier, the team won a state championship in 2014 and 2015. In addition, he has coached for the Pioneer Valley Juniors Volleyball Club since 2011.  

Pender graduated from Providence College and is currently a social studies teacher at Agawam High School.
