BOSTON, Mass. â€" Western New England College ran its winning streak to eight games and remained undefeated in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference with a 69-61 victory over host Suffolk University.

This was the first win for Golden Bears' coach Wendy Davis in six meetings over the Rams.

Junior center Lisa Masella (Newtown, CT) led Western New England College (11-4, 4-0) with 13 points and eight rebounds while freshman point guard Megan Ferguson (Plainville, CT) contributed 10 points and five rebounds.

Freshman guard Jennifer Dabrowski (Plainville, CT) had nine points off the bench while senior forward Shelley Everson (Plainville, CT) had eight points and five rebounds.

Ferguson, Dabrowski, and Everson were teammates at Plainville High School.

All 10 players scored points for Western New England College who jumped to a 31-18 half-time lead.

The Golden Bears' defense held the Rams to only 35.5% shooting from the field (22-for-62).

Western New England College won the contest despite being out-rebounded by a 44-35 margin and making only 13-of-29 free throws.

Suffolk senior forward Allison Fox (S. Easton, MA) led the Rams (10-7, 2-2) with 17 points (including the 1,000th of her career) and 14 rebounds.
