WORCESTER, Mass. - Western New England College's men's ice hockey team fell behind early and never caught up in dropping a 6-3 decision at Assumption in an ECAC Northeast contest Tuesday night.

The Golden Bears trailed 4-0 in the third period before pulling within two on goals by junior Mike Amato (Mt. Laurel, NJ) at 6:31 and sophomore Nick Sampson (Reading, MA) just 50 seconds later. The Ice Dogs put the game away by scoring twice to take a 6-2 lead with 3:32 remaining in the game

Sampson scored his second goal of the game at 19:21 to complete the scoring. 

Sophomore Steve Hennessey (Essex Junction, VT) assisted on the first goal while Amato had an assist on the second goal. Senior Dave Wright (New City, NY) earned assists on both Golden Bear goals.

Western New England College remains winless at 0-5-1 while Assumption improves to 2-5.
