No. 8 Brandeis claims easy victory over Western New England College

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Western New England College fell behind by 17 points at half-time and couldn't make up the difference in dropping a 63-38 decision at nationally-ranked Brandeis in a women's basketball game Saturday at Auerbach Arena.

The Golden Bears (5-3) suffered their worst shooting performance of the season making only 29.5% of their shots from the field while committing 25 turnovers.

Junior forward Vicky Taylor (Feeding Hills, MA) enjoyed her best outing of the year with a double double of 11 points and 12 rebounds for Western New England College. Sophomore guard Jen Dabrowski (Plainville, CT) managed only six points while junior guard Laura Booth (Chicopee, MA) had five points coming off the bench.

Brandeis (6-0) received 18 points and seven rebounds from junior All-America forward Caitlin Malcolm (Windsor Locks, CT), and 15 points and six rebounds from senior forward Christine Clancy (Yarmouth, ME). The Judges, ranked eighth in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III poll and fourth in the d3hoops.com poll, led 29-12 at intermission.
