SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Western New England College ran its winning streak to six games with a 3-0, 9-0 doubleheader sweep over Albertus Magnus College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Freshman Alex Paterson (Deep River, CT) and junior Megan Cloutier (Greenfield, MA) combined on a one-hitter in the opener while senior Jackie Shedlock (Oak Ridge, NJ) tossed a one-hitter in the second game that ended after five innings because of the mercy rule. Paterson improved her record to 3-1 while Shedlock (who fanned nine of 16 batters) is now 6-1.

Freshman catcher Allison Glassick (Guilford, CT) was the hitting star going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs in the two contests. Freshman third baseman Meredith Pacelli (Hamden, CT) slugged her first collegiate homer in the opener. Junior first baseman Erin Whitcomb (Bellows Falls, VT) went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run in the second game.

Western New England College is now 11-2 overall and 4-0 in the GNAC. The Golden Bears have won 11 of their last 12 games.
