SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 15, 2026) – Western New England softball's
Riley Kane has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Second Team as a pitcher this season, one of 38 honorees in the region this season and one of seven true pitchers to be honored. Kane earned NFCA All-Region Second Team honors.
Kane had a standout season for the Golden Bears in the circle, taking Conference of New England Pitcher of the Year honors. The Prospect, Connecticut, native, posted nine victories while dotting a 2.29 ERA over 24 appearances. Kane tossed 140.2 innings during the season, giving up 125 hits, 67 runs (46 earned), walking
39 batters, and striking out 85 overall. Kane's 20 games started, 18 complete games in the circle, and strikeout total were the best of her four-year career in a single season. Kane held opponents to a .228 batting average on the year.
Over her four-year career with Western New England, Kane appeared in 100 games, making 59 starts, tossing 38 complete games, along with five shutouts. The WNE senior pitched 435.2 innings, striking out 226 batters. Kane will appear in multiple career pitching record books for WNE Softball, including wins (36 – T-9

Kane is one of nine All-Region honorees from the Conference of New England. Endicott saw three representatives named this season, while Johnson & Wales University (2), Roger Williams University (2), Wentworth Institute of Technology (1), and Western New England (1) were all represented.
The Golden Bears finished an even .500 this season over 40 games, going 20-20, picking up a 12-8 record in CNE play.
