SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College women's volleyball team moved over the .500 mark for the first time this season after posting a pair of 3-0 victories over Southern Vermont and Emerson in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action Saturday at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.
The Golden Bears defeated the Mountaineers by the scores of 30-13, 30-11, 30-20, and roared by the Lions by the scores of 30-19, 30-26, and 30-23.
Junior Amy Lorinovich (Hampstead, NH) had 18 kills against Emerson while junior Teddy Woeppel (Cooperstown, NY) and sophomore Ashley O'Keefe (South Dennis, MA) each had 10. Lorinovich also recorded 14 kills against Southern Vermont while O'Keefe added 10.
Coach Greg Poole's team is now 6-5 overall and 2-0 in the conference. The Golden Bears have won four straight matches and six of their last seven.
